With age, there can be a loss of tissue volume which causes hollowness around the face and eyes, giving a tired appearance. This loss of volume can be reversed by careful placement of dermal fillers to rejuvenate and restore the face. Dermal Fillers can also be used to enhance the shape of different areas of the face to improve symmetry and ratio, including the lips and nose.
Dermal Fillers are made from Hyaluronic Acid – a gel-like substance that is found naturally in our bodies which helps to keep our skin and soft tissue hydrated and plump. As dermal fillers are natural, the gel is gradually broken down by the body over time. There are numerous different filler products currently available, with different products specialised to treat different areas of the face.
Miss Sarangapani will advise you on which filler will give the best results for you. Sometimes other treatments are used in combination with or instead of dermal fillers to achieve the best results.
For deep lines or folds, Botulinum Toxin treatment can be used to reduce wrinkles and lines and Plexr (plasma treatment) helps to tighten loose skin. Chemical skin peels and creams can also be used in conjunction with dermal fillers to brighten and enhance the skin appearance.
There are a number of common areas and conditions where dermal fillers can be used effectively to achieve a natural, refreshed look.
Subtle and natural lip enhancements can be achieved to give both volume to the lips and a sharp definition to the lip border. Rejuvenation and recontouring of the lips combine a feminine shape with a highlighted cupids bow and perfect volume ratio between the upper and lower lips.
The tear trough is the area between the lower eyelid and the upper part of the cheek. Over time, there is loss of fat and volume in this area and the soft tissue of the cheek can sag. As a result, a hollowness appears below the eyes, causing dark circles and eye bags to appear.
The area around the eyes can be rejuvenated using Dermal Fillers to restore lost volume and reduce the appearance of dark shadows and eye bags.
Dermal fillers can be used to reshape, balance and resize the nose without invasive surgery – the “non-surgical nose job”. This procedure is quick and virtually painless, with long-lasting results. Slightly crooked noses and small bumps can be reshaped to achieve a more symmetrical appearance, whilst maintaining a natural look.
Vertical “lipstick” or smokers lines are the wrinkles or lines around the mouth that occur as a result of sun damage to the skin, natural ageing as well as smoking. These lines can be smoothed out by using dermal fillers to hydrate the tissue and restore volume.
The appearance of the jawline and chin profile can be enhanced by using dermal fillers to shape the profile of the face. This is becoming an increasingly popular treatment which gives a more sculpted jawline and natural boost to the lower face.
Photographs will be taken to document the “before and after” treatment effects. A detailed medical history will also be taken and if you have any medication that you take, please bring this with you.
Please inform us about any allergies, previous surgery and smoking habits. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions that you may have and we will also discuss whether any other non-surgical treatments like Botulinum Toxin treatment, chemical skin peels or Plexr will help to achieve the desired outcome.
Surgical options will also be discussed so that the best treatment option for you can be decided.
Dermal Filler treatment usually only causes minimal discomfort and the local anaesthesia within the filler usually makes it a painless procedure. Local anaesthetic cream can also be used to numb the area being treated beforehand if required.
With any drug treatment, there can be side effects. These are usually minimal and settle quickly.
