What is Implantable Contact Lens (ICL) procedure?

During Implantable Contact Lens procedure, also known as EVO ICL™ phakic lens implant (meaning the eye’s natural lens remains in place), an additional artificial lens made from a thin, flexible, biocompatible Collamer material is gently inserted into the eye in front of the natural lens, behind the coloured part of your eye (the iris).

It works by providing additional focusing power to the eye’s optical system. It works by replacing the function of glasses and contact lenses from within the eye and focusing light correctly for sharp, clear vision.

A significant advantage of ICL surgery over other refractive procedures is that the EVO ICL™ is a reversible lens implant. The ICL lens implants can be removed or replaced if your vision changes substantially as you age.
