Mr Kashani graduated from St George’s Hospital Medical School in London in 1998. After completing foundation medical training and a two-year rotation in general medicine, he obtained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians before pursuing specialist training in ophthalmology.

He completed ophthalmology training in several leading London teaching hospitals including King’s College Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and the Western Eye Hospital. He later undertook advanced subspecialty training in retinal disease at Moorfields Eye Hospital, one of the world’s leading ophthalmic centres.

Mr Kashani was appointed as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon in 2011 and has since developed extensive experience in cataract surgery, retinal disease management and intravitreal injection therapy. Alongside his clinical work, he has been instrumental in developing modern retina services and multidisciplinary ophthalmic teams.

His approach focuses on providing personalised care and achieving the best possible visual outcomes for each patient through careful assessment and tailored treatment planning.

Mr Kashani has an active interest in ophthalmic research and education and has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications in international journals. He has presented his work at numerous national and international ophthalmology conferences and continues to contribute to clinical research and innovation in the management of retinal disease and cataract surgery.

Mr Kashani is recognised for his leadership within ophthalmology and currently serves as Clinical Lead for Ophthalmology at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.

He has played a key role in modernising ophthalmic services and developing innovative models of care, including the introduction of multidisciplinary teams delivering treatments for macular degeneration and other retinal conditions.

In addition to his clinical responsibilities, he is actively involved in education and training. He contributes to the development of ophthalmology training programmes and supports the education of junior doctors and ophthalmology trainees.

Mr Kashani is a member of several professional organisations including the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, the Royal College of Physicians, and leading European ophthalmology societies.
