AA – Macular hole surgery

I consulted Mr Chien Wong about a macular hole in my right eye. He advised me that an operation was possible but the probability of success was lower because of my age. His explanation of the procedure and the posturing afterwards was straightforward and clear and he didn’t try to influence my decision.
After consideration I went ahead with a vitrectomy and cataract removal. On the day Mr Wong explained all that would happen, I was given a sedative which allowed me to drift off but still be vaguely aware of what was happening. Injections were given to numb the area and there was no pain at all. I was allowed home a couple of hours later.

I saw Mr Wong for my post-op appointment after 2 weeks and was so delighted to learn that the operation had been successful. The bubble in my eye has now gone, it just shrinks away.
If you’re worried about the operation and the posturing as I was, I can only say it wasn’t anywhere as bad or difficult as I’d feared. I’m now 2 weeks post-op and it’s all over and I’m so glad it.

My heartfelt thanks go to Mr Chien Wong who was always honest with me whilst also so reassuring. His expertise has improved my vision.

CM – Upper eyelid surgery

I recently underwent upper eyelid surgery at this clinic. My surgeon was Susan Sarangpani. I received excellent communication before during and after surgery. I was given clear after care instructions and reassurance for follow up. The team here are all very friendly warm and respectful. Susan Sarangpani is extremely skilful in her work and has a really lovely manner. Very impressed. Will recommend and will return for any further work if necessary.

CA – Bilateral blepharoplasty

This review is for Susan Sarangapani who performed bilateral upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasties (eyelids & bags) on me. I spent a long time researching who I wanted as my surgeon and I’m really glad I did. Her attention to detail is amazing and she is a true miracle worker. She’s made me look at least 15 years younger but done it in a way that looks completely natural. We spent quite a long time talking about what results I wanted and she advised me to go for a ‘natural’ look so no one would know I’ve had cosmetic surgery. I’m so glad she did. I’m not an easy person to please but I highly recommend her.

TA – LASIK surgery

I had a consultation with Allon Barsam and within a week was booked in to have my LASIK eye surgery. Mr Barsam is a very likeable, friendly, professional surgeon with so much experience that I felt at ease immediately. He has a wonderfully natural way with patients and I personally appreciated him using my name throughout the process, which added to my feeling of confidence and trust in him.
The aftercare has so far been first class and although I only had the procedure done 4 days ago, I am not in any pain at all and my distance vision is perfect. I’m still waiting for my reading vision to settle, but I understand that this could take a few weeks.
I would recommend Mr Allon Barsam without hesitation.

FN – Cataract surgery

I recently had bilateral cataract surgery and was very nervous about the whole procedure, but all of the staff put me at ease and the whole experience could almost be described as amazing! After less than two hours I was on my way home with my new eyes! Thank you so much Allon you have restored my previously blurred vision back to clarity.
I would highly recommend the OCL clinic, don’t be nervous, you will be extremely well looked after.

SA – Cataract surgery & YAG treatment

Ali Mearza was highly recommended to me by a close friend, as I needed my failing vision corrected. I have to say that arranging a consultation with Mr Mearza was the best move I could have made. From the beginning of my Cataract surgery till my last follow up appointment a year later for YAG laser treatment it has been a pleasure. I had the pleasure of having Laser Eye surgery with Dr Ali Mearza and the care and attention has been outstanding. Its been a number of years now and I had a follow up recently in which I have to say again the service and setting is to the highest standard. LA – LASIK

Look No Further: Mr Romesh Angunawela
I recently had my 3-month post-op review and am absolutely delighted with my 20/15 results! My prescriptions, immediately prior to the LASEK procedure, were around -9 in both eyes.

Being as risk averse as I am, I researched the different procedures (LASEK / LASIK / SMILE) and provider types (high street chain / hospital / independent clinic) extensively. For me, an independent clinic seemed to be the way to go based on my high prescriptions and desire for a more personal experience as well as more extensive post-op care. Ultimately, Mr Angunawela at OCL Vision was recommended to me by an ophthalmologist friend as being an expert and keen researcher in laser eye surgery, in the prime of his career and possessing an excellent bedside manner.
