Our clinic offers various MIGS procedures, each tailored to specific individual needs and the type of glaucoma. These procedures are less invasive compared to traditional glaucoma surgery, resulting in faster recovery times and fewer complications.

During the MIGS procedure, local anaesthesia is applied, making it painless. Techniques such as the insertion of an iStent or the use of a special lens to assess and treat the drainage angle are employed. These procedures typically take 10-15 minutes, and patients are usually discharged the same day with follow-up appointments scheduled to monitor progress.

To explore the different procedures, such as Clear lens extraction, Goniosychiolysis, iStent or Tube surgery, please visit their knowledge pages.

Post-surgery, patients might experience mild irritation, which subsides quickly. Follow-up appointments ensure proper healing and successful pressure reduction. With MIGS, you can expect effective glaucoma management using the latest medical advancements.

Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery work FAQ's

View knowledge base

Am I a suitable candidate for MIGS vision correction surgery?

Ideal candidates for MIGS are those with mild to moderate glaucoma who have not responded well to medications or are looking for a less invasive surgical option. A comprehensive eye examination by our glaucoma specialist will determine if MIGS is the best option for your specific condition.

How long does the MIGS procedure take, and what is the recovery time?

The MIGS procedure typically takes about 10-15 minutes per eye. Recovery time is rapid, with most people experiencing minimal discomfort and returning to normal activities within a day or two. Full stabilisation of eye pressure may take a few weeks.

Can glaucoma be cured after laser treatment?

Laser treatment is an option to treat glaucoma and halt the disease progression. It does not reverse any existing damage sustained from the glaucoma. Different laser modalities are suitable for different types of glaucoma. Your consultant will discuss what type of glaucoma you have and what laser treatment option is the most suitable.

Are scans included in the glaucoma consultation price?

Scans are not included in the initial consultation fee. The initial consultation is £270, and scans cost £310 in total (either 1 or 2 scans, as confirmed by the consultant). This brings the total price to £580.
