About Shahram Kashani

He graduated from St Georges’ Hospital Medical School in 1998. After completing the prestigious membership of Royal College of Physicians, he started a career in Ophthalmology at the North Thames London Deanery.

He was selected for two advanced fellowship training programmes in medical retina and uveitis at Chelsea and Westminster NHS Trust and the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital. It was at Moorfields where he completed his final years of senior registrar training, providing him with a solid platform to progress to fellowship training in medical retina and inflammatory eye disease.

Over the last 3 years he has been the clinical lead at East Sussex NHS trust and the South East Eye Surgeons.  He has published extensively in peer reviewed journals and has had many poster presentations in national and international meetings. He attends conferences every year to advance his knowledge and training in most recent developments in ophthalmology.

He loves to teach and has been instrumental in local training and development of nurse injectors and optometrists assessors in extended roles currently trending in many NHS hospitals. He is married to Ellie and has two beautiful daughters Ayla and Ava.
