Book your FREE consultationBlended Vision, also known as “monovision”, is an innovative approach to vision correction that enables individuals to see clearly at near, far, and intermediate distances without the need for reading glasses, varifocals, or bifocals.
At OCL Vision, our expert surgeons specialise in this advanced treatment, which is ideal for people experiencing presbyopia (the need for reading glasses as we get older). Discover how Blended Vision can transform your daily life by providing clear, comfortable vision at all distances.
How does Blended Vision surgery work?
Laser blended Vision treatment, also known as monovision, works by correcting one eye for distance vision and the other eye for near vision.
This approach takes advantage of the brain’s ability to adapt and merge the different visual inputs from each eye, resulting in a seamless blend of clear vision at all distances.
During the procedure, one of our expert surgeons at OCL Vision will use advanced laser technology to precisely reshape the cornea of each eye according to its designated focus. This personalised treatment is particularly effective for individuals with presbyopia (age-related reading vision problems), allowing you to enjoy clear sight both up close and at distance without the need for glasses or contact lenses. The result is more natural vision, enhancing overall quality of life.

Blended Vision FAQ's
View knowledge baseWhat is Blended Vision correction and how does it work?
Blended Vision, also known as monovision, is a procedure that corrects one eye for distance vision and the other for near vision. This technique leverages the brain's ability to adapt and merge the different visual inputs from each eye, resulting in clear vision at all distances. The procedure uses advanced laser technology to reshape the cornea of each eye according to the designated focus, providing a seamless transition between near and far vision.
Who is a good candidate for Blended Vision?
Blended Vision is ideal for individuals experiencing presbyopia (age-related reading vision problems) and other refractive errors such as myopia (short-sightedness), hyperopia (long-sightedness), and astigmatism. It is particularly beneficial for those who wish to reduce their dependence on reading glasses, varifocals or bifocals. A comprehensive eye examination at OCL Vision will determine if Blended Vision is the best option for your specific vision needs.
What is the recovery time after Blended Vision?
Recovery time after Blended Vision is typically quick, as the procedure is minimally invasive. Most people can return to their normal activities within a day or two. You may experience mild discomfort or visual fluctuations during the initial recovery period, but these usually resolve within a few days. Full visual stabilisation occurs over the following weeks, providing long-lasting, clear vision.
