Eye drops app – dropAdrop

Posted: Jun 09 2020

At OCL Vision, we pride ourselves on developing innovative ideas to enhance all aspects of your vision correction journey with us.

Our dropAdrop App has been developed and customised to remind you to take your essential aftercare eye drops. The App sends notifications to your chosen device to remind you to take your drops. It’s free to download from the App store or on Google Play.

For those having surgery with us

  • Our free dropAdrop app serves as a reminder when using eye drops either after your surgery or if you have been prescribed drops for a particular condition. The app can be used whether you have had surgery at our clinic in central London or at one of our other sites.
  • There are specific drops which are pre-loaded into the app depending on the treatment you have undergone. Our app also provides key information related to each procedure and sends push notifications to your device to remind you to take your eye drops at the prescribed time.
  • Within the app, you will also find information on the do’s and dont’s after surgery so you can be assured of the best possible recovery. After surgery, the eye drops are so important as they not only aid the healing process but also help to make your eye(s) stay as comfortable as possible. Using your drops correctly not only prevents problems such as developing an infection but also ensures the recovery is as quick as possible allowing you to resume your normal lifestyle and activities.

For those having surgery elsewhere

If you have your surgery at another clinic or NHS hospital, as the treatment varies depending on the hospital and surgeon, you will be asked to enter the name of the drops, the frequency and duration. The app will then store the regime and send you reminder notifications at the specified times.

For those with eye conditions needing drops

If you have an eye condition that requires treatment with eye drops, the app has a function where you can enter the name of the drop, the frequency & duration and reminders set. If your regime changes, you can easily edit or re-set the schedule as needed.

New functions of dropAdrop

We have now expanded the app to allow any patient anywhere to set up reminders for eye drops either following their specific eye surgery procedure or for a condition requiring regular eye drops. We have now included a video link to a short video tutorial showing how to instil eye drops correctly.

You can sign up to our newsletter via the App to keep up to date with our latest news.
