How much can I save with laser eye surgery?

Laser eye surgery is a one-time investment into your future vision, which could ultimately save you splashing out year on year on non-surgical vision correction. Using glasses and contact lenses you may find yourself paying out unexpectedly in order to replace them. With laser eye surgery, there should be no unexpected costs and you know exactly how much you are going to pay.

Using our laser eye surgery savings calculator, you can work out just how much you might save following a LASIK procedure. Simply answer a few basic questions about your eye care and discover how much laser eye surgery could save you.

Laser eye surgery cost FAQs

We understand that laser eye surgery is a big decision. Our experienced surgeons will be able to answer any additional questions you may have and advise based on your individual circumstances.

What insurance options are available for laser eye surgery?

Most health insurance providers do not cover laser eye procedures to remove the need for glasses or contacts as this is deemed a cosmetic procedure. Some insurance companies cover the procedure to remove scarring on the cornea for example and it’s always worth checking in case you qualify. Many laser eye surgeons do all they can to keep treatments within the cover that insurance companies provide, so patients don’t get stung with unexpected costs. OCL Vision are registered as a facility with the majority of UK and international private medical insurers – read more here.

Are there finance options to pay for laser eye surgery?

At OCL Vision, we offer 0% interest finance options making it easier to spread the cost of surgery over up to 24 months.

A minimum 10% deposit is required and the balance is split over your chosen monthly period of either 6, 12, or 24 months at a rate of 0% APR. Read more about our finance options here.

What if I’m not suitable for laser eye surgery?

If you’re unsuitable for laser eye surgery because of a very high prescription and/or a thin cornea, you may be suitable for Implantable Contact Lens (ICL) surgery.

This reversible procedure involves implanting an artificial lens in front of the natural lens in the eye.
At OCL Vision, this procedure costs £6700 for both eyes and can be spread over up to 24 months at 0% interest.

Does the price include revisions?

A revision is when the procedure is repeated in cases of over- or under-correction. If you have received distance vision correction (LASIK, PRK or LASEK excimer laser) for short-sightedness from us here at OCL Vision, then we will offer a repeat laser eye treatment to correct a return of myopia in the first fifteen years, free of charge. Less than 1 in 1000 of our patients have needed an additional procedure after 24 months and it’s highly unlikely, but we offer this guarantee for reassurance and peace of mind. Read the full terms and conditions of our guarantee here.
